School-based Academic Programmes
Below are some of school-based programmes I am involved in in Nanyang Girls' High School.
Science and Math Talent Programme (SMTP)
SMTP has given me a chance to develop my interest in Mathematics and the Sciences. The opportunities given, including Olympiad courses, workshops etc., allowed me develop my abilities from the exposure to knowledge beyond the curriculum. It has helped stretched my potential in Maths and Science, and challenged me to become a more critical thinker, which I am most grateful for.
Bicultural Studies Programme (BSP)
Through BSP, I was exposed a lot to the history, social issues, economic development and international relations of contemporary China, and learnt to better appreciate the cultures of both the East and West. The BSP Programme has certainly been benefited me greatly, especially in today's world where China is emerging rapidly as a global superpower.
Chemistry Olympiad Preparatory Course
The Chemistry Olympiad course has given me a lot more exposure to various topics beyond the syllabus, and helped deepen my knowledge. The opportunities offered by this programme, including field trips, courses, hands-on activities, has also nurtured my interest in Chemistry.
Physics Olympiad Preparatory Course
I joined the Physics Olympiad Course in Secondary 4, after realizing that I have an interest in Physics which I hope to develop. Just like the Chemistry Olympiad course, I’ve been exposed to a lot of interesting knowledge, not only in theory but also in application, which has certainly given me a clearer idea as to how Physics can be very relevant to our everyday lives.
